Did something happen to them? Noticed that the catch limit is like one a person? They used to be like 10 per person. Used to catch a lot of them out at the reefs this time of the year. Doesn’t seem to be too many of them around now. Just wondering.
They were overfished in other parts of the country, The one fish per person is a federal law.
They should be showing up in big numbers here if you know where to look. Unfortunately 1 per person doesn’t make it very worthwhile unless catching countless 12-14" fish keeps you interested for more than a few minutes.

one 14" sure isn’t much… Don’t know about you guys but 80% of the weak fish I’ve caught inshore are wormey. Something about that just doesn’t make for appealing table fare. A deep drop with some structure and a shrimp on a carolina rig and they are about as bad as the undersize BSB.

I have never seen a worm in a grey trout. The problem was bad limits, mixed with idiots that would fill multiple coolers. Maybe everthing will make sense in a few years.
…
The fleet would anchor and pull in hundreds.just like the spot.Limits should also be placed on spot,whiting.25 is enough for anyone.

look like the same ones you see in Amberjacks, most usually are around the belly.
What do you mean about making sense in a few years?
