Ive been lookin at taking a trip to chas 60 tomorrow in a 20’7ft sea hunt deep V but looking at the weather and my inexperience with being outside the view of land i am having a hard time predicting the weather and what it may mean for my trip? Can someone a little more experience than me help me decide about the weather and waves?
I like 2’@8 seconds and 20% chance of rain, but that is rare and with that predicted a few weeks ago it still was horrible. The wind/wave tomorrow is calling for 2ish at 10seconds which could be dreamy but the weather is 55-75% chance of rain. I wouldn’t try that. Today was great down here in Beaufort. Wish I had an epirb, we would have gone to tne ledge. Super flat today.
Thanks a lot, it is always harder to make a decision when I was not only set on goin but had to decide for everyone else too. needless to say i went with intentions of staying inshore but the weather ended up cooperating and we had a good day, also put a report out on our turnout
Yeah, I don’t live close enough to make game time decisions usually. We head down for a weekend or not based on the conditions, looks like you had some luck from your other post. Congrats on scoring the rights to the new ride.
Check the NWS forecast for south santee to edisto beach out 20nm. The old saying you never know until you go is always in effect though. I’ve been suprised at the end of the jetties more than once. I look for winds under 10 knots for about 12 hours before hand usually the seas lay down pretty nice then. Check the bouyweather.com forecasts and sign up for http://southcarolina-offshore.com/ it’s free. If you can figure out how to read the reefcast forecasts it’s a pretty good tool as well. That being said, forecast looks good for sunday at the moment but it will change about 10 more times before sunday always does.
