Website...

Anyone set up their own website? I’m getting ready to either set up one of my own or talk to a local web hosting company, just don’t have any experience with either option. If you’ve done your own, I would be interested to know which site (WIX, Yola, etc) you used. I don’t necessarily need e-mail integration since I can go set up a free yahoo account. All help appreciated.

How are you registering you domain name? If through GoDaddy, they have a pretty simple and free web site build/host package that comes with the domain name registration.

What type of site are you wanting to set up ? Online store or just a standard info site ?

If an online store, you will need a shopping cart , SSL cert , Payment method and so on . I used Go daddy a couple years ago it went smoothly … Then switched over to Joomla for content management and Virture mart for my shopping cart this was a little more cumbersome but I was able to figure it out and do it myself.

If you are going to have someone do it for you remember there is a difference between a builder and a site programmer. Most builders will use prefab site templetes, just like what you can do from Go Daddy , programmers can actually write the code for the site (more versatility and costly)

Good luck , there are many different options out there.
