…decided to go try for the spades again …left wappoo around 6ish and stopped at the jetties to get some jelly balls where we had a discussion that with all the new regulations they will probably have one soon where you have to have a permit to “net” them with a limit of “X” amount per boat per day … then Headed out to a spot we have been fishing…our friend Reelestate laughed because I have it entered as “THERE” on my Gps. Water wasnt co-operating and the spades werent on top as they have been…we could see them and they were eatig our teasers…just wouldnt bite…so we decided to wait them out for a little while. A boat came up shortly after with three guys on it who decided to circle us for at least 15 minutes within throwing range before setting their anchor right off of our stern!!!.. (we had 4 lines in the water). One of them jumped in with snorkel and mask and says…“yep…theres 'cudas here”…then they began tossing tube worms at them and smacking the water with rods in a attempt I guess to “stir them up”
was all we could figure…lines kept flying at our boat barely missing ours until finally enough was enough and they were told how “considerate” we thought they were…one guy sarcastically said he didnt “realize” we had lines behind our boat and thought we were bottom fishing(not that that should have mattered)…duuhhh…what should have been his first clue???..maybe opening his eyes would have helped. they finally left but with all the commotion the spades never came to the top. Did catch a nice spanish and then…a big 'cuda…so we moved on…picked up a few bottom fish and then returned to “there” where we did finally pick up some spades but not like on previous trips. Still a day on the water is better than being on the hill:smiley:
Sorry about the bad luck Penny. This weekend will most certainly be filled with inconsiderate people like that. They seem to come out of the woodwork for the holiday. Glad you got on a few spades though. You always do well with them. Maybe if you had Lee on the boat, he could have struck up a conversation with them and they would have left shortly thereafter. [:0]

Sails…they were pretty arrogant…thought we were going to have a redneck brawl for a minute:slightly_smiling_face:…tried to shrug it off till they started yapping…then reelestate and donnie told them “politely” they should nip it in the bud…Lee was going to go with us in fact but had a lunch date:wink:…

I know…his awkwardly long man hug with Wormy was uncomfortable to say the least. I wish he was with you guys.

i second that. idiots like that need to be called out and publicy harassed.
Had some interresting guys “fishing” right outside the jetties today. They were using a trot line of sorts and a pistol. They would pull themselves along in a jon boat and when they got to a shark one of them would hold onto the line while the other stood up, took aim, and fired! This is outside the jetties, in a jon boat! I guess the funny thing is that these looked like kids about 16 and they kept the gun in the cooler next to the beer. I guess darwin was really onto something. Natural Selection happens with humans too.
You had me going on the marlin pic, Penny.

You’re just jealous, aren’t you? Did you see the tear in Wormy’s eye?
