Puttin in at DBI when they open and heading down the lake loking for breaking fish! With the strong N-NE winds for the last week I am guessing the fish should be in Beaver Dam? any help would be appreached!! My partner just called said he couldnt make it I guess Ill go by my self!
How did you do? We tried over the weekend and got blown out … we criscrossed the main pool and couldn’t find any of the big schools we were seeing before the front moved through … This is our first year of really fishing Murray so we have no idea what to expect for this time of the year … from what I’m reading the top water bite should be picking up - which will be cool … but the question is when and where … I guess we’re going to be doing some early morning cruising around on the lake to see what we can see … We don’t have VHF … yet, but I do have a cell phone - PM if anyone wants to trade digits … otherwise - we’ll just keep reading … LOL
it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish now!!!
I have not been out since the wednesday before the cold front. I figured the fish would start to move up lake soon. It was fun while it lasted. I’d probably look around bear creek, maybe ballentine.
Got to BDI at 7:30 got boat in the water and realised I had a bad bearing on my Tra. Worry about that when I get in! Took off towards lower part of lake! Rode all over Beaver Dam ,no fish, rode down towards dam on Lexington side ,no fish, rode up lake to Putnamns on Chapen side of lake no fish! Rode around bomber island and glassed whole area, no fish! Went back up Beaver Dam, stoped and glassed then all of a sudden the whole creek erupted with fish lost count at 20. Put 5- 26-28" in cooler It was like 30 yrs ago with all the breaking fish!Could not keep up with them with el. mtr. had to crank big motor, they stayed up for over an hour and traveled about a mile! Wind shifted from north to west about 10:45 and fish quit! Went back to repair my tra. race welded to spindle couldnot fix there and had to pull home on 3 wheels at 45mph long ride! Be back next rainy day
Thanks for the report…now hurry up and delete this thread!

Thx for the report, going in the AM, Lex side.
Will post later.
After cutting and welding I repaired my axle. Have to much to do to return today! The fish are moveing up the lake! Next week they will probely be in Big Hollow or in between. Find the bait and you can find the fish. I did see 2 gulls on the lake, in a week or two there should be large ■■■■■ of them coming down from the Great Lakes as the cold weather runs them down! Then it will be a matter of horse power to see who can get to them first. Dont forget your soda crackers!! HaHa! Glad I got 250 HP and cant aford gas to use them! See yall on therlake soon

Yeah, thurs am for a hour, rode from Jakes up to Spence Key, same trip Thurs pm,did not see a single fish.
South wind was marginal choppy so I had to stay on Lex side out of the wind.
Barley got the little Bote on the lift last night as that storm came out of nowhere.
Thanks. Gonna give it a try in the morning. Calling for these winds to die down to about 5 mph by the morning…hope they got it right.
