Wed and Thursday Wando

I don’t post many reports, but figured the past couple of days warranted one. My buddy’s father is visiting and we decided to go explore the Wando. We left Paradise landing at just before sunrise and headed all over. Gotta love the days that you can fish most of both low tides.

On Wed, we caught a total of 37 redfish, countless trout and flounder between the three of us. Slams for each. Everything caught, was on artificials. Topwater bite started strong, each of us landing several reds and a ton of trout blow ups. The largest was 28," most of the reds were small dinks, but it was good to see a healthy population of younger red drum. The rest of the day, we threw Zman with Trout Eyes and had a blast. Finished as the sun setting, catching a lot of trout on topwater. The heat of the day was brutal so we took a couple hour break at the Wando Grill.

Thursday, we went back out again just before the sun rose. We started off getting reds on topwater as well. The biggest one was 29.5," missed the plug at least six times before finally connecting. Same as the day before, switched to Zman when the tide was coming up and caught a total of 27 redfish. Unlike the day before, only a few were small 12-13" and most were 20-22." Oh, and we all got inshore slams as well.

In two days, we tagged around 50 fish (ran out of tags!).

Dang!

I have a few questions about tagging. Where do you get the tags from and how do you attach them? What kind of metrics are you trying to get from the fish? How do you get the update, is there a website that people record catching the tagged fish on? Thanks for any explanation.
