My Son and I went to Murray boat landing #3. We put in at 10:00am and immediately saw bird activity. I was trying to use my trolling motor to run them down but couldnt keep up. We made long cast but couldnt boat any. As the morning went on more boats showed up in full force. Any time a ■■■■■ of birds started diving, many boats would run full blast over and break up the school. I guess yall know the drill too well. I thought it was over the top how these guys would run and gun. We only caught 1 shorty away from everybody else and we only saw a couple of boats catch anything. I would hate to see this on the weekend. This is the first time I have fished in a long time. Maybe next time I can find the schools better. Maybe even catch a few catfish.
Welcome to Lake Murray. Almost got run over by the guys staying in the cabins @ Dreher. Lots of good guys on this lake, but a lot of f##king idiots. Just cause you can buy it doesn’t mean you can drive it.

As fun as catching the schooling striper is, I don’t do it. I go out there to relax and having all the idiots plowing through them right when I am about to sneek up on them is very frustrating. Plus there are usually fish down below in the general area that will hit freelines and down rods. The absolute worst area for that is where the rivers split. You can watch the same guys chasing the fish around for hours. you would think they would figure out that they are chasing them away but they never get it.
always keep a bag of oyster crackers in the boat.i had a group of ass boats follow me from ramp 3 to the boy scout camp.i would throw a handfull out at every point i was going around.the birds would start and the boats would follow.
