Wednesday 3/8

Left dock about 5.30 a little before 6.30 were were trolling at the ledge got two rods out then a small Bonita got rods back out and a nice 50-55 lb wahoo on a red and black chugger. After that could get out of the Bonita. Fun for the guys with me who have never been offshore. Then decided to do some jigging found some monster reds and jacks and called it a day around 2 with one wahoo in the box. Fun fight on a 25 class with a live bait rod. Could not find the blackfin anywhere. Also saw a huge sunfish and the biggest pod of dolphins. Hoping the reds are this easy to catch when the season comes around

The ledge in an hour is pretty quick.

No doubt. That’s hauling!

Sounds close to the same results we had Thursday as well. Couldn’t get away from the bonitas. Did manage 1 15lb blackfin on a Maurader plug. Outcrop to SW banks. Water temp 67.5-69.5 Nice day out there though.

trim tabs digging in motor trimmed up and haul ass. Between the alcohol and hand warmers the ride out was comfortable and not very cold. The AJ’s were hitting hard made a fun trip for the newbies

By pod of dolphins- are you referring to flipper or Mahi?

Flipper dolphin @saltball. We looked for mahi passed a few weed lines and some stuff floating around none of them held any life. Have heard of some mahi being caught and seen

Has anyone ever live lined small Bonita’s around the schools? There’s got to be some Wahoo hunting those schools?

Stella Blue

Never live lined them. But trolled big yo zuris around them. Usually catch them on the planer rod
