Fished about 8:30 till 12:00…trolling lures from towers to Jakes…3 fish caught…all nice fish…marked tons of bait fish and stripers everywhere from 25–60’…should have caught more fish…but they weren’t biting…
where were you marking most of the fish. Where they in the deep around the towers. That was the only place we fished on tuesday because the bite was so steady.
A friend and I went Tuesday night to Lake Moultrie. We caught three and missed three. We also marked a bunch of fish that I guess weren’t in the mood. As far as Moultrie, it is still too early. I just hope the lake doesn’t get too low to where the landing at Short Stay can’t be used.
Hey lynnmcd, can civilians use the ramp at S.stay yet?? Back in 2001 when the lake got low, they opened it for civilian use. "Dam" nice of um' I thought!! I'v been driving down to Gilligan's to put in and comming back up thru the locks to fish. I have seen and threw at, several schools on the Tailrace, nothin' but "shortys" tho, 14-16".. I usually give-up and go catfishing about 10:00..

A friend and I put in at Angler’s a few weeks ago and went through the locks and fished all night (as if we had a choice). According to Weather.com, it was supposed to be clear all night. When we got on the lake it was like glass and the wind was light if any. Well, around 11pm we couldn’t see Cross anymore and the lightning was everywhere. We got poured on, but luckily the lightning didn’t really get too close. I hope I will not be forced to do that during the winter because the nights are longer and not to mention cooler! Plus, during the next month or two you can catch your limit in no time at all. So, I would hate to be stuck on the lake after only a couple of hours with my limit waiting on daylight. Hopefully, if the lake doesn’t rise back to normal, maybe it will maintain enough depth so we can still use Short Stay.
if you start catching your limit on Moultrie…let us know…it’s been a while since anyone has posted good news about the striper fishing on Marion or Moultrie…

have a good one…
I caught limits several times this past summer and last Nov - Dec. During the summer, I catch most using live bait early and then troll later in the night. During the cool months, I usually just troll to catch them. Seems like, as far as my experience, the bigger ones came in the cooler months. When I start catching them, I’ll post it ASAP…
