Hadn’t been fishing much at all the last few weeks, so I decided to drop the boat in last eve and troll a bit.
Got in the water right at dark and trolled both rods in the 30-40’ range. Fishing was really slow and I marked very few fish. I did pick up 3 and missed a couple, but I wound up staying out over 3 hrs.
Sure hope this cooling trend on the way gets them schooling consistently. I’m ready for some topwater fishin.
What do you usually troll with? I’m trying my luck with u rigs this year.

7" floating Rapalas are the most dependable lures to troll with for me. They only dive about 7 or 8’ though without downriggers.
Marked more fish near the bottom in 50-65’ than suspended, but I don’t like trying to track the bottom and take the chance of getting hung up.
