I got tired of work today, so I decided to get away in the boat. Ran up to one of my old spots for flounder, since I hadn’t had a fresh mess in a while. Ended up catching a keeper and a shortie. The great thing was I landed 3 nice specks. The biggest was 21" and the smallest was 17". The 19" fish got deep hooked, and I cut the leader and left the hook in, but unfortunately, I couldn’t revise him, and after about 15 minutes of trying, I put him in the cooler. I hated to do it, but I wasn’t about to release that guy so that the crabs could have him for dinner instead of me. So, the family had a nice fresh flounder and trout dinner. I have caught 9 trout so far and that was the only one that died. I hated it, but I can assure you that the wife, little man and I didn’t let her go to waste. I will try to get a pic up tomorrow am. So, even in the heat, fish will bite. 2/3 of a slam aint too bad when it’s 100 degrees outside. Just couldn’t make it happen with the redfish. Good luck to anyone going out this weekend.
