Weekend FIshing

Looking to get out on the water this weekend, just moved down here and was wondering what the reds and trout are biting on back in the creeks right now. I enjoy fishing artificials over live bait but will throw anything that will get em to bite. Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Went out yesterday morning around low tide, and the reds were biting well on artificials. Couldn’t get them to eat on top, the spook kept spooking them (imagine that!). They were hungry to eat on Z-Man scented shrimpz. Trout bite was really good on paddle tails on the incoming tide. My color of the day was rootbeer chartruese. Good luck!

Ended up going out this evening was using a popping cork with a savage gear artificial shrimp. Caught plenty of lady fish and only one sea trout. Put in off of Main Rd. Would love to catch some reds so if you have any other information on where to go or what else to do, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

I am trying to get out this weekend if you want to buddy up. I’m not sure exactly how my schedule (or the weather) is going to pan out, but I would really like to fish from the kayak some.

You might want to go try out around Kiawah (put in at the bridge) if you are on the John’s Island side. If you want to make the trek up north of Mt. Pleasant, all of the sounds and shallow bays off the intracoastal are full of fish right now.

Thanks for the info, I am actually out of downtown Charleston. If i were to head over to Mt. Pleasant, where would be a good place to launch. Just transferred to the school down here so am not familiar with the area quite yet. Thanks

I usually launch from Pitt street or Shem creek
