weekend inshore

Put in Friday on Seabrook Island and paddled for a few hours. I had never been in the creek I was on and was unable to find any good looking flats at low tide. Some structure (sea walls and docks) but not what I was looking for. I did come across two dead flounder both fully in tact maybe frozen. Saturday fished in the boat and found two separate schools of reds one about 30 fish and the other closer to 80. Neither school would feed. I staked my boat out in the flat and was able to cast on the larger school for at least 30 minutes. They would follow but not eat. I did get to see one caught by an osprey in one of the finest displays of fishing I have ever seen.
Sunday I put the kayak in at low tide at Sol lagre. Went up some promising looking flats where I saw fish 3 weeks ago (no rod of course) but there was nothing there today. Paddled for 3 hours and never saw a fish. Maybe my luck will change with the weather. I plan on going tomorrow on the low tide and it is supposed to be 70.

yea, the weather is very nice until tuesday, then it will get cold again, the water temperture is still in between 48-50’s so it’s more then likely that the fish won’t feed, but you never know. the other day i run across the IOP bridge and look down high on the bridge and saw few reds that just laying there not moving at all. i think it must be still too cold for them.
