Well we started out fishing the channel and then the jetties and then the inter coastal right where it spills into winyah Bay. We did not have any luck in those spots, but around 7:30pm we headed back to the main channel in Winayah bay , setup right on the edge of the channel and got lucky I guess, First Red was a 22lb redfish caught on 8 inch mullet cut in half. they were frozen. Second one was a 27 lb redfish. caught the same way. The bite turned on right as the sun was going down about 8:30pm or so right there in the deep channel. We called it a night and decided to go back to that same spot for sunrise and see if we could catch a few more. Same thing two more right at sunrise on cut mullet carolina rig. All in all it was a wonderful weekend. several sting rays wore us slap out but it was worth it for the Reds. None were keepers but just pulling in fish that big was wonderful.
Very nice
Great report. Nice fish! Congrats!

Good report. I got into them once in Bull’s Bay when they following and tailing right behind Stingrays. I believe the rays were stirring up the bottom and the reds were feeding on dislodged crabs. Not sure if that’s correct, but ever since I’ve keyed on rays or muddy blooms that have resulted in more than a few. Congrats.

there is some truth the fact that the sting rays and Reds work either together or side by side. If you are catching Bull Reds you are catching Sting Rays. Thats my experience.

2 ounce weight, the kind for trolling that has the swivel on both ends and is streamlined. hook was just a circle hook, 5/0 I think.
