I only fished on Saturday in the PM. Left Larry Koon landing around 3:45 and rolled over to my hole in block Z4. Saw no schooling stripers on the way around Shull Island to get there.
Started dropping live baits down 35 feet, and was fishing blind, because I left my electronics at home. Floated about 35 minutes with one pull down and the schools showed up.
We threw everything at them Zara Spooks, 1 oz Striper Delights with and without bucktail trailers, and Shad Raps. Only managed to hook up on Shad Raps at the end. Caught a few on the down lines as well. I was leaving the them down at around 15 feet while we chased the schools. We were able to keep up with the schools using the trolling motor, so they were not moving too fast. The schooling for the most part shut down at around 7:15 PM.
All of our fish were small with only two coming close to the 21 mark.
All action took place in area #7 on the map out in front of the little island key.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the meeting tomorrow night. I have a few screen shots from last weekend to show and tell. I sure wish I had not forgotten my unit on Sat. Those striper schools on side scan would look cool.
