Went out with Phish on Saturday morning. We fished the mid lake area and I caught one short fish. Seemed like perfect conditions, we just could not catch fish. We found some fish back in a cove and had a few short hits near the end of the trip, but they let go quick.
Went out last night solo in shakey. Started in Balentine and did not find many fish. ended up fishing out in the big pool and caugh four. Three were around 20" and finally caught a 30" keeper. My biggest fish since early summer. Perfect weather both nights. Killed the battery in shakey and ended up trolling back to the ramp. Never got home until 2:30. I guess I just needed to get rid of Phishinphan’s bad fishing Karma. I told him not to use short striper for chum (just kidding of course).
Good job Tom and the shakinator-me thinks you need another battery though![:0] At least you are going which is more than I can say …Did see the cocks blow up Tenessee though
Epic Failure=When everyday, run of the mill failure just won’t do
Got him last night about 9:00. Most of my hits came on freelines. Each pass of the hot spot got one or two freeline hits. I’d get way out of position fighting the fish then slowly turn around and do it again.
I could not find my charger and the battery sat a while before these last two trips. Plus i sat in one spot with lights, FF, and bait tank all running for 5 hours. I should have cranked and ran the main motor a little in the middle. I will probably buy an extra battery or a jump pack thing.
But for the price I feel like I should just buy a third battery, but I guess the jumper would be good in the car too. Forgot to mention i also caught a U-rig as well, lol.
Steely lucky you had a trolling motor,
I went out on saturday in my pontoon to try some striper action on
marion. Hadn’t run the boat in awhile as i had been hunting alot.
got to my spot drifted for several hrs live bait (nothing)
went to fire up to move nada (whoops) was running the live well radio and UHF off my main and had forgot my spare. Thru the anchor as i was headed ashore.
Waved down nearby boat and he was kind enough to tow me home, super embarrassing.
Anyway Thanks Digger Dan i owe ya
No fish but another lesson in being prepared.

I bought a Wally World special for less than $40 a couple of years ago. It has came in handy on countless occasions (for myself and others).

yeah tom; that’s the ticket. buy one of those generators for around $160 incl tax or you could buy 3.5 batteries at wally world for the same amount.
seriously though; i bought a spare this year with 700ccamps for under $50 and take it with me. me and triton also use it to run the drop down green lights and the aerator for the bait. works like a charm.
