Well, I couldn’t go try the poons in G-Town this weekend with yellabird, but I did find a window to try a couple of hours up in Little River on Sunday. Low tide was at 10:30, so I got there a little early. Found some great finger mullet for bait. Started at my honey hole and put 5 reds in the boat. All over slot fish with the biggest at 33". Put a short flounder in the boat on the trout tricks and lost one of the nicest trout I have ever hooked right at the boat, once again, on trout tricks. I know better than to hoss them things, but I didn’t want to lose it on the shell banks. I have no idea exactly how big, but I’d venture to say 25"+. Anyways, I slid out to the jetties to drift for a bit on the sand bar, but the wind and tide was ripping, so it was hard to slow it down. I only had 2 hits, and put no flatties in the boat. Maybe next time. It was good, however, to get on the water for a few and feel the pull of some reds. Something about a drag singing seems to make all your worries disappear for a little bit.
On a side note, y’all please keep my Mom in your prayers. She’s getting weaker, and all I can do is stand by and watch as the MS does it’s thing. MS is a horrible disease that I would wish on noone. I don’t know how well I would do if I didn’t have faith because I don’t handle it well at times now. Thanks in advance for the prayers y’all.
