Weekend Report

Went out Friday after work with Lakefan. Found some fish right away on a 60’ hump out beside the river channel on the Lexington side of the big water. Hit spotlock and caught one fish and they seemed to vanish. Moved onto a hump above jakes and spotlocked again. Fish seemed to keep moving through in small groups. The bite was slow but steady. We caught our limit around 10:30. 6 legit keepers and 4 that were 19-20. Had the hydroglow out and never saw the bait. It was about 10’ down on the ff but never came in site.

Went out Sunday morning with Striperskiff and we got skunked. IT was the same deal with small groups of fish passing but they just wouldn’t hit. After reading controlfreaks post I’m thinking we should have been drumming.

Any girls in that bunch? Every fish we caught on Saturday was male … Wonder where the big girls are … LOL

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!

Not sure, Rob kept and cleaned them all. They were all kind of on the skinny side. These were all under 23". So maybe some girls, but no big girls.

10 for 10 on Saturday ranging from 20" to 29" … all boys

We had one female and nine males… apparently an empty bag of ice and several recyclable items!

Tom.

Why would you ever fish down rods in the summer and not drum?

Wasn’t in my boat, I have a broken 2x4 that drifted into my boat one day on the water. Perfect for drumming. Not bad for clubbing gar either.
