Finally got a chance to go fishing this weekend after a couple weeks of not being able to go. I went out Saturday morning at dawn and the water was going crazy. Had a minor gear problem and spent the first 15 or 20 minutes dealing with that while fish were blowing up around me. Finally got to it and managed 10-12 trout and two reds within about an hour. All caught on white gulp shrimp or white curly tail.
I got a call while fishing from a buddy who wanted me to go shrimping with him for the last time this year on Saturday night. So we joined the crowd. Shrimping was pretty slow but we still managed to come home with a couple of pounds after heading them.
Decided to go back to the same fishing spot Sunday morning. Fishing was pretty slow off the start using a variety of arties. The fish were most definitely there but for the most part just bumping the bait once and moving on. Caught 3 undersized trout on grubs. Decided to switch to top water and caught two keepers pretty much back to back with the biggest being about 18.5 inches and chunky. Man, I love top water!
