Man I love this time of year. I have been off work this week, so every morning I have been sitting in a stand and then fishing the low tide every afternoon. The deer are not cooperating but the fish surely have. The main goal at the beginning of the week was trout; however, I only managed one all week. The by product of my trout fishing was several reds and flounder which more than made up for it. The water has started to clear up and they hit anything that resembled a shrimp. All artificial.
After reading the sheephead reports, I decided that I was going to go for the convicts this afternoon. I went to a new spot and managed 6. I had two straightened hooks and one that was bit in half. After the morning hunt tomorrow, I am going back with more hooks.
For the week so far:
6 sheephead
1 trout
4 or 5 flounder
a bunch of reds
Threw everything back except for 2 sheephead.
