The tide yesterday left a fisherman with more to be desired. A tall low and a short high made for some funny conditions yesterday, for me anyway. Almost as if the tide just swelled up, welled up if you will. Between fighting off gnats and trying to locate some flowing water, yesterday was tough for me. Took a buddy from the upstate out early and we only got 3 in the boat and missed 2 good ones in some pilings. No wind and no current are usually things I gripe about having too much of… oh well, better than working on the house! Water was 67-69 and fairly clear. I think next trip out will be top water only for a early few hours.
I had the same thing happen to me one night when we was gigging.Didn’t gig anything but one of my boys shot a deer so we’d have some meat to bring home.haha
