Went Deer Watching...again.

Last day Buck, for the WMA I’m hunting. My first spot choice already had two trucks parked there at 4:10 am, so I went to a spot that I could walk to in about an hour, since I did not bring my bike. Left the truck at 4:30 and was up a tree at 6:00.

Saw a Doe but had already decided I wasn’t shooting any Does. Heard something in the brush/canes behind me at 9:00. Thought it was Squirrels…then spotted this guy working a scrape about 30 yards away. He managed to make it 20 yards after taking a 260 Rem round through one shoulder.

All that walking, with all that gear, gets harder to do every year, but I’m still hard headed enough not to give it up yet.

Most guys I have taken Hog hunting, and walked them 7 or 8 miles in a day…think I’m crazy.

Nice buck!!! It pays to be able to think on your feet and always have a contingency plan. Congrats!

She has a friend…that is a Boy, but not a Boy friend…he thinks I’m scary and says he doesn’t want to end up on my wall. That’s a good thing
