Landed at Remelys to hit the sheepshead or anything that would bite. Too bad the only thing we caught were pinfish! About 12 of the bait stealing bastards… Can you eat these? I went to the coal trellis, I fished near the shipping pier, trolled through the harbour…NOTHING BUT PINFISH!!! Someone message me a good spot to go catch a dinner. I know this is like asking a woman how much she weighs, but I can’t figure it out! My Brother graduates USAF tech school and will be home next week. I promised him we’d catch some fish, but I have fished everywhere around Remely’s. Am I in the wrong area completely?..
If anyone went out to Remelys Friday morning, I was in the dinky camouflage boat, so you probably seen me doing 4 mph across the harbor. Ha!
Don’t be afraid to use those pinfish as bait. I’ve caught reds and trout on them both live and cut.
I have to agree with bigfishfan, I absolutely love pinfish for big reds.
Were you using shrimp for bait? Pinfish are notorious for stealing shrimp. Try finger mullet or mud minnows or cut the pinfish into chunks. Try going up the wando away from the harbor and fishing those docks near remleys around low tide. If you can venture further from the landing, try creek mouths and points with shells around them.

Something too, Dustin, if you aren’t catching anything in the first 20 minutes, move on. If you try the same type of spot 3 times and it isn’t working, try something different.
I caught a ton of fish over the weekend, but each day I had to figure it out. What worked Friday literally did not work on Saturday. So I kept trying different depths, banks, etc until I came up with what was working. Then I repeated it all day long.
If you left Remleys for the harbor, you went the wrong direction - for safety and fishing’s sake. You could have practically swam to your first trout hole from there! ; )

Use anything with a yellow tail, fish for 20 min no luck, move on, dont waist your time, plenty of scattered trout and reds all over the oyster rakes at the mouth of creeks just about anywhere!
PM me your number. I can use a partner on my boat anytime and help you out.
