rolled out fri noon for the long haul to mayport boat landing. picked up an old friend hitch hiking down 95, ex moncks corner boy Jim Blazek, now living in st. marys ga.hooked up with son tqs22usmc who had the boat loaded with rigged hoos. weatherman was calling for 3/5 on fri but the weather map isobars told me different. cleared the rocks at 5:30 with 3’ 9 sec. hit 30mph out to 45 miles and the seas picked up a little. stopped in 145’, 73 deg lines in and put 3 good fish in the boat. crossed the ledge about 1hr. later and hit a great rip and the battle was on. we worked the rip for two hrs putting 19 keepers (15 to 35 lbs) in the boat with a good # of knockdowns. saw many of the fish charging through the spread hitting many rigs before hooking up. at 1pm we had more fish then we really wanted to clean left them biteing and headed for the hill at 35 on 1/2ft.seas. great to spend the day fishing with the son, his now seasoned friend Jay & "don’t give me the rod no more Jim " Maybe the wind will lay down this week in chucktown so we won’t have to travel so far to fish. will post some pics in the am.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
