Wesco or Magic Til?

I am choosing a trailer for a new 22’ CC, and am being offered Wesco or Magic Tilt, at the same cost. Which do you all recommend? I have a Wesco now, and it has done fine except for oxidation on aluminum rims. My fault. I think I had a Magic Tilt back on some prior boat?

Are there any details to call for in specs, besides aluminum or galvanized rims? I will get double axle with brakes.

Thanks
RD

We’re a Load Rite dealer and can match or beat MT or Wesco pricing. You’re getting the same quality of parts on each brand - brakes, frame hardware, wiring, etc… Send me the make and model of the boat and we will be able to provide you with pricing.

We can only price match if we see an actual quote from another dealer/manufacturer.

Have a good weekend!

Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from magic tilt. Far too much UFP hardware on those trailers that do not interchange with anyone else’s stuff. Wesco is near me and service and help are excellent. I slowly turned my magic tilt trailer into a Wesco with all the stuff I replaced. Axles, springs, brakes and lines, actuators, hardware, you get the idea.

We run a triple axle Magic Tilt. We were in a pinch when we bought our boat and got this brand new. With exception of the tires we are very pleased with the quality of the trailer. With the exception of the tongue it is entirely aluminum. We’ve run it since June of last year on several trips yo south Florida without issue. The 1 tire issue we had was taken care of under warranty with better tires.

I have owned several Wesco Trailers over the years. Have 2 currently…A 2010 Aluminum and a 1998 Galvanized. If you keep a trailer long enough you will need parts. Wesco’s customer service is second to none. I wouldn’t own anything else.

Stay local. Charleston Trailer makes an outstanding trailer. All stainless hardware, aluminum bunk boards, etc…

2nd What Loopervet and Chris V said, go local w/Charleston Trailer, have seen their work and dealt with them as well for parts.

I had serious issues with a brand new WESCO trailer I bought for my 25’ Grady and had to pull teeth to get them to make it right. I will definitely not be dealing with them on the next trailer.

WESCO is local. They are in Cayce South Carolina (Columbia) Right off US 321.

They are an excellent company with excellent service for owners of Wesco products as well as others. I have had to visit them for parts for other trailers in the past, including Magic Tilt and Load Rite, when I could not source the parts elsewhere.

Have no knowledge nor experience of/with Charleston Trailer, but the guys recommending them here are in the industry and know their business well.

Just wanted to reply so everyone knew that WESCO is local, and Magic Tilt and Load Rite definitely are not…

I have a Magic Tilt under my big boat currently, btw.

I am shocked to hear of any issues with Wesco with SCFisherman’s grady. Are you sure it was not related to your Grady dealer?

You can literally drive up to or call Wesco and ask for parts at the counter and they will go get them for you. Whenever any work had to be done, everything was handled extremely promptly and professionally for me when they’d never heard of me or had any reason to have before… I was a stranger off the street to them.

To buy a new trailer, you’ll need to go through a dealer though, so you may want to take Saerboy up on that. Dealer can make or break a product like a boat or trailer since we are all busy and want what we spend our money on to simply work well when we get to use it!
