For those of you who don’t like Blackfin or keeping more fish than the crew can eat for dinner in one night read no further.
For everyone else:
RightRx left GLM around 4am and plowed our way through the slop to the hole where the temp went from 70 to 77. Lines in a sporty ocean at 6:45am. Quote of the day at 6:50: “There is a flyer. No wait, I think that was just a normal fish that was thrown from the ocean.”
From 7:30 to 10am we put 12 BFT in the boat. Had 2 eaten by sharks, the one we saw was quite large. Had a blue come through while we were fighting a tuna and could not get a line to him quick enough. We hooked what we were sure was old yella but it turned out to be a big foul-hooked Blackfin.
After 10am we change up the spread and tried to catch a dolphin/wahoo/billfish but the tunas would have nothing of it. They ate wire, chuggers, and anything else that was offered short or long.
Daymaker came when we thought we were bringing BFT #20 to the gaff and it turned out to be a 51# HOO! Then we got a decent cow and lost a bull. The ocean settled down in the afternoon and we ran in at 35.
Totals
19 Blackfin kept + 2 that were taxed by Jaws
1 51# hoo
1 dolphin

WOW!! That is STONG boys!! I know a couple of guys who backed out because they thought it was going to be to rough. I am sure they are enjoying your post right now.
Nice to see the new bling bling in the boat. Looks like they got broken in well.
Great day!
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
