Some Droid footage of My little brother Chalmers huckin the 12wt at some of the coolest tarpon fishing I have experienced (these little clips do it no justice). He struggles a bit with the 12 and he broke the 10 that he casts well, the night before. He took at least 30 shots at migrating fish on the ocean the previous three days. He had some follows and is learning how to read their movements, attitude and how the fly has to intercept them at just the right angle. Look out for him catching his first one on a DVD a friend of mine is putting together.
Catching was kinda slow the first few days, but still learned a lot! Sat we caught some snook, trout, baby tarpons and snappers, and then sunday is shown in these clips.
That footage is AWESOME. Your little Bro looks dialed in, and is sporting some fantastic casting skills. That 12wt is a lot of stick to throw and throw and throw- even when you’re surrounded by fish. Good stuff, thanks for sharing that.
He’s a little deamon with that rod. The weight of hauling 12wt line can add up quickly. Hope we get to see him grow up in fishing videos. Well… at least until he becomes a teenager.
Now for a serious note. Lets get some eye protection on that little champ. It’s like seat belts; got to tell the kids they can’t go unless they buckle up or in this case wear eye protection. Last thing I want to hear about (and I bet you) is a eye injury.
