What are the fish bitting on

I haven’t been out in a while, and I was wondering what the fish are bitting on.
Planning on going this weekend and I’m wondering if I should use artificial or cutt bait. Also are the fish in the flats and shallower whater, or in more structure deeper what.

Thanks.

I have been mostly fishing the flats/ very shallow areas. I’'ve been using either a gulp shrimp in the natural color or a gulp jerkbait in new penny on a gamagatzu hook with the bait Keeper screw. Has worked really well for large schools and small groups of finicky fish (which I have found again… Thank you Optiker). When I fish deep water or structure like docks, I’ll switch over to either a DOA shrimp or DOA C.A.L (which is basically a paddle tail) on a quarter ounce jig head. That’s was worked really well for trout. Hope this helps.

We have been catching them in numbers by deeper structure that is surrounded by shallow water. We have been fishing in about 8ft of water with cut bait. Caught right around 75 when we went out this previous sunday. Trout bite is going to be slow. Water is below 50 and 50 is that magic mark for the trout.
