What banana myth?

It has been way too long since our family has been fishing. Finally found the time to hit the water ths weekend. We filled the cooler with finger mullet and headed to our favorite dock. After 30 minutes of nothing, I hear my wife ask the kids if they wanted a banana for a snack! I couldnt believe it. I proceeded to tell my wife how bananas were bad luck, and our fishing trip was doomed. She thought I was crazy as usual. Not soon after, our first rod doubled over with a nice 27"ish red. For the next hour we wore them out until it was time to go. So I guess the banana myth is a bust (well atleast for this trip). But we still won’t bring any in the future just to e safe. I don’t need anything working against me anyways! Here are a few pics.

I actually got to catch one!

He even caught some dinner. He isn’t happy unless he catches a trout.

Thanks everybody! I am a very lucky man:) Very fortunate to have an entire family that loves to spend time on the water. My 3 year old daughter has even started requesting fishing trips!!! I am very superstitious, so there will be no bananas on the boat in the future!

Banana’s - yes. Banana nut muffins are actually GOOD luck. I read that somewhere. Proven fact, though! It was on the internet.

Family looks great! Keep tearing them up! Your post are always enjoyable!

How do we know that there really were bananas on the boat??? we need pix !!

Congratulations on a great day with the family!!!

Bananas OK,Peanuts never.

Agree with Matt, No Peanuts! (But that’s because my daughter has a nut allergy).
Seawest has the best of both worlds!

No chocolate or glass bottles, too messy or dangerous. Bananas have no power on our boat.

We caught 3 1/2 baskets of extra small shrimp last Thursday at Otter Island, when we returned to the dock I found my mate had a banana in his knapsack! Wonder what we would have caught without it? I am a firm belever of the banana legond!!!
