I can say the same for Scout, they have some of the best looking boats on the market these days, but most 5 or 10 year old scouts I have seen and ridden on have been a far cry from the way they looked when new.
In the early and mid 90’s they were in my opinion still and entry level boat. I have fished on a new 265 sport fish and it is very nice.
For what’s its worth, I have a '03 Sea Fox 215 BayFisher. I love this boat. Don’t get me wrong, it is no Scout or Shearwater, but for the $$$ I would say it is well worth it. I have the tunnel hull which is nice for the shallows, but I have also taken it in the bay during pretty good swells and it handled them nicely. It has enough ‘V’ that it cuts easily, but doesn’t restrict you too much in the shallows. Foxes dont really hold their value as well as some other boats, but that helped me buy a nicely used one and then spend the extra $$ setting it up like I want it. I have 3 teenage daughters that love to fish and the 215 is a great size for a family of 5. Buy what you feel comfortable with as you are the one making the payments and living with it for the next 10 years. Just my 2 cents.
“Grady are all decent boats to start with”
Grady is a decent boat to END with and a step above the other you mentioned… which are I’ll fine boats as well.
By a strong brand, quality used boat, that has power still under warranty.

Our tradition is that of the first man who sneaked away to the creek when the tribe did not really need fish.
Hey Stuck,
I have a Sea Hunt 207 Triton. My boat is a 2007 year model with a 2008 Yamaha 150 still under warranty. This has been a great boat and has been 60 miles out nurmerous times trolling and only burned between 40 and 50 gallons. The fuel tank is 65 gallons. The boat is in great shape. I have not listed this boat yet but I am thinking of selling it. Let me know if you are interested

Well thank’s everybody for their help. I’ll look into their suggestions but if anybody else has good advice post it and I’ll look into it.
My only advice would be not to buy a new boat right now. There’s just way too many good used boats out there begging for new owners at over half the price of new. If warranty is a concern, sell the motor and slap a new one (w/ warranty) on there.
Also, keep in mind just because you are buying new does not insure years of trouble free service…new boats have issues too. For the $ saved buying used over new you can have an aweful lot of work done.
It ain’t no mystery…this beer’s history!
