I have bought a few skrimps from him but I don’t know him very well.
Bayrider sent me pics last week, looks like it came untethered and it’s lack of propulsion is the reason for the predicament it’s in.
That’s my guess, Mr green hasn’t been around in a while so I really haven’t a clue
The paper said the owner of the boat was renting from Mr green, but quit paying rent and was anchored in the river until it started to sink and was moved to its current location.
There have been shrimp boats abandoned along that stretch of river for decades, this is at least the 3rd I can remember.
I lost a ton of tackle in around those wrecks, especially early on when the old nets were strewn about, but later caught some good flounder on the outgoing tide regularly, so there’s that.
Any guess on what 20" of rain, and storm swell, might do to an untethered craft?
Kool just got an advisory from a friend on Folly, from the City of Folly Beach, saying to expect up to 30 inches of rain.
Maybe it will wash it up river to metal trades and they have the ability and equipment to scrap it?
or not…
