What depth are the big black Seabass?

Went out last week, had a great day but couldn’t find keeper size seabass where they were in February, we were on live bottom in 100 feet.

Any help is greatly appreciated

This is not much help but we caught nice big ones four weeks ago in a hundred feet.

Catch them year round in 100’.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

They are there. Probably could have moved to a nearby spot and found them. If one spot doesnt have what you want, move on

Bottom viz may have been poor. Gotta move around.

I have been catching nice ones in 75’. They are starting to move out some now with the warmer water.

65’ to 90’ if I was trying to target Seabass. Find the big schools of sardines on your Sounder The big bass will be close by. Use large jigs to catch the large fish. I like a simple 8 ounce diamond jig or a 7 ounce butterfly jig in yellow or pink

We caught our limit in 85 ft friday. Went to our usual spots and did ok but thought the fish were on the smaller side. We then started roaming around a bit and found some new spots that held bigger fish. Interestingly the bigger fish were in 85 ft and smaller ones in 100. I think its more to do with spots that haven't been fished before more than anything else. I agree with Sells and jigs and bucktails with tails attached do better than squid and cigars if you want bigger fish.
