what does it take to make counter-rotate?

anyone know how expensive it is to convert gearing to counter-rotate?

looks like i’m going to need a pair of engines soon… can find
several deals on 2008 engines, but alas… none are counter…

Most of today’s counter rotating outboard engines the difference is in the gear case. In that case it would require a gear case change out. It is not absolutely necessary to have counters though. In some cases it makes very little difference. You might mention what you are looking for in case someone has something to offer.

Whole different gearcase on a counter rotating. Not a reqirement tho, mainly it just makes for less steering torque which can be mostly compensated for by the anode skegs and a good hydraulic steering system.

probably will need 2 x 250hp … would love larger, but not sure
