So i went out today and hit a wave and got some air… than this light came on my fuel maagement system (twin 05 F150 Yamaha’s). I don’t know if it was from the wave, or it came on at the ramp. Wasn’t really paying attention.
Looks like it means water in Bilge, or water in fuel.
2 weeks ago i drained the tank and filled with non-e fuel, added Startron and the blue Stabilizer. Since than i have burned 1/2 a tank (around 100 gallons) without this light.
Fuel water seperaters are 2 weeks old, 1 pumped a gallon of fuel out and let it sit… no water.
Any ideas?
Can i just reset it? The light is on when the engines are not even running, no alarms.
The light is on the left. Thanks

does your boat have a racor water seperator? if so it could be saying to drain the seperator?
i have no clue, just kinda looks like the filter on one of those racors and the water drop out of the bottom looks like how you drain those racors.

You have water in the fuel filter on the motor. It is at the front of the motor and it has a red ring in it that triggers a sensor to let you know there is water in it.
the fuel filter on the engine and fuel water sep. are new 2 weeks ago.
I looked at the fuel filter on the front of the engine (clear) and there was no water/dirt in it. I didn’t see any wires going to it to suggest there is a sensor. Also i read the only sensor that goes to this guage was an inline fuel sensor ( i may be wrong though).
Thanks

looks like the sensor is before the fuel water sep.

the sensor on the motor goes out pretty often, causing that light to blink
durring rigging, if you have fuel flow meter, sometimes the harness has an extra wire for a fuel water sensor, and it doesnt get used. it gets taped out of the way. sometimes you get a little corrosion, and it shorts out, and makes the light come on.
2005, if you got the extended warranty, and its the sensor, it should be covered. if not…

Thanks for the help Chris!
On the guages with the tachs it is not lit up. I am getting the blinking light on the Yamaha fuel management flow guage. I didn’t think the fuel management guage (system) had any sensors on the engine, just the fuel flow sensor on the fuel line… but i don’t know.
Does the digital tachs have this light to?
Think it means fuel contamination (so i’ve read online). Does the sensor on the engine go to the fuel management guage?
Is the light supposed to blink… or only when there is a short?
Thanks for your help Chris! I would take it to you in a heart beat, but i am up here in Murrell Inlet. The only mechanic i trust is about 3+ weeks backed up. The other mechanics i have used don’t seem to be the brightest.

disreguard… found the FMS rigging guide.
I loosened the wire off the top of the fuel water sep. when i took the old sep. off with a 3ft pipe wrench. When i hit the wave… came off.
thanks again.

I was told that you should never run Startron in non-ethanol fuel. Knowledgable one wanna wade in on this.

no reason to use startron in non ethanol fuel
i have no knowledge of ethanol reacting to regular fuel
