What else should I know...

About running recreational crab pots. I will be running out of Duncan’s on the Ashley.

I have 2 pots, weighted. I have ID’d my bouys per DNR regs and know to stay out of the channel. Size limit 5" tip to tip and keep nothing with eggs.

I have an assortment of left over fishing bait and shrimp heads to use as bait.

Any other pro tips/success stories???

Thanks in advance

If you ain’t retie’n, you aint try’n…

use fresh menhaden for bait, and if you are lucky enough to catch a stone crab, it is 2.75" on the thumb of the larger claw.

Don’t encroach on a commercial crabbers area or you might get your lines cut.

Ditto on what sellsfish said, also any old fish carcass or oily type of fish like bluefish/spanish seem to work well

also, try to hide your pots well. there a lot of dirty little crab thieves that will clean you out. it pisses me off.

Yea i had a couple crab pots a few years back. And it got robbed quite a few times. And the SOBs had the audacity to re-bait the pots after they cleaned them out LOL![:0]
