What is a kayak and what isn?t?

Is a it kayak with a lounger seat, pedals, motors, row boat oars is there a weight limit, at least 8 fishing rods, do all kayaks have to have milk crates
Is it a kayak w/out Kentucky Bourbon, mullet/ Menhaden on board and a power bar + redfish/trout dinner in the cooler?

Capt Dave may have meant this as a rhetorical question, but I worry about it a little because of the Biyak. It probably doesn’t matter that much unless kayak fishing tournaments start getting more specific than “human powered boats,” but it might be useful for marketing purposes to fit within a category.

I suppose the original kayaks all had cockpits and were stretched skin over a frame. If any other forms are allowed to be called kayaks then the determining factor should probably be that the vessel is primarily propelled by a double bladed paddle. That lets me include my design.
