After reading a few post about sharks i got the general idea that you need to be fishing fresh/live bait on the bottom with steel leader and big line. The where to go is either creek mouths which im not sure how to approach that idea or holes. That im sure I can find but what is deep enough?
If I remember correctly, the holes in folly river usually run around 50ft or so. However, it’s been a while for me since I’ve fished for sharks there in the holes so someone else might know better.
I’ve been fishing 5-12 foot of water along the backside of folly beach and the banks and tearing the shark up…if the shark don’t get you the whiting will. Same thing…Carolina rig…circle hook and bait of choice. I’ve been using frozen mullet…frozen shrimp and squid along with manhadden which seem to be abundant right now and little live mullet… Bonnet head ESP. Seem to like
Iplain ol frozen shrimp. I even had some large ones that had gotten freezer burnt when the top came off and they ate them up.
I fish the deeper holes too…but this time of year it seems they are everywhere.

Thats cool man. I am using 180 pound wire leader with a 8/0 mustad hook that is the size of most whiting I have encountered but glad to hear they are prevalent. I want to hook in to one 6 ft + though
anywhere that has a signifigant depth change. Say a 8-10’ creek with a 15’+ hole…
well if this weather will EVER cooperate Im gonna go try em
