I currently shoot a Mathews Q2 that i’ve had awhile. I’ve had others, but this is the best one I have ever owned. Reliable and plenty fast. Shot the Easton Aluminum arrows for awhile (Shooting fingers) then swapped to the carbon with a release. Due to the shorter axle to axle measurement, shooting fingers was harder to be accurate due to the decreased string angle pinching fingers into arrow. Hope that makes sense.
Anyway, let’s here it guy’s…and good luck with your season!

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

My “got to” is my Hoyt Spyder 30 ZT. Can’t say enough about it’s weight (or lack there of), lack of vibration (no hand shock), and how quiet it is. Everybody makes a big deal about speed, and yes this bow is smoking fast, but I’ll take the first three attributes I mentioned over speed any day. Confidence is maxed out when I’m toting this bow.
I recently added a new Bear Arena 30 to the mix. Jury is still out on this one.

I’m picking up bow hunting again after stepping away for 12 years, I’ll be walking into the S.C. deer woods for the first time this year. I dusted off my old target bow a Hoyt Striker II that I bought in 1999, painted it camo and sighted it in. Now I just need to see if I can get close enough to one to let an arrow fly. Good luck to everybody this year

I started hunting pigs with a 22/.410 Over /Under. It soon became no challenge. I then went to my compound bow. I shot several with it but soon realized that the compound bow was not suitable for the “snap shots” at the pigs. Draw, set aim. etc. Shooting a recurve allows you more flexibility. You can whack a critter quicker if you have the eye-hand coordination. Just saying…
I shoot a Bowtech Guardian. I absolutely love that bow. Its not the fastest bow out there but it is whisper quiet and it is absolutely dead in the hand.

I have two compounds. A 2009 Quest for hunting and a 2014 Obsession Evolution for fun. I love the Quest but the Obsession is the fastest, smoothest, quietest bow I have ever shot. Its amazing.
Ive gotten into traditional archery over the past year. I have a 2013 Bear Grizzly recurve. 45 lb draw and a sweet shooter. I also have a 1969 Ben Pearson Cougar Recurve i bought a couple weeks ago. Its a 50 lb draw but feels lighter. Very smooth draw.
But my favorite is a 56 lb 1958 Bear Polar reflex deflex longbow. Not as smooth or friendly to shoot as the recurves but it hits like a mack truck. Very fun bow
