I am repainting the cowling on a 99 suzuki df60. Scraped then sanded it down good- plastic has become brittle and very porous. Now ready for paint- I was thinking primer, flat black, then clear coat. But that might be too much. Need something that will hold up to sun exposure, heat.
I appreciate any suggestions on brands/ techniques/ experiences.
I have had good success with the OEM paint that is available from the dealer. It goes on well and holds up great!

I recently did my cowling (fiberglass) - I used a Krylon primer that is zinc enhanced that I got at my local NAPA store. After stripping and sanding the old paint & decals I primed one coat, wet sanded with 0600 paper, primed again and sanded before I put on the alykyd enamel OEM paint that I got for my Evinrude. Looks brand new again and will probably last another 10 years.
