The double mono I show on this shrimp fly is the sh/t! Never had a grass fly work better. But it doesn’t work on some of my others. I usually tie three (or more) types of weed guard on a fly and see what works best for ME. Most of my flats have some thick grass areas and I need a guard that really works.
If I use a wrap around, I always use a double and use light mono. Seems to make it self centering.
