What kinda flies should I be tying

I was looking online for some recipes for flies for reds but didn’t come up with to much. Anyone want to fill me on what flies to tie or some good websites that has recipes

I’ll send you some links. But… if you learn two words; Tim Borski, your life may change.

Thanks it’s highly appreciated

First red I ever caught was on a Borski and every fly I tie seems to never be as creative as a Borski. Plus... he's a really nice guy. That's worth something.

Yea I have read about him before in some mags. He is also a very talented artist

Judging by the contents of the stomachs of 2 redfish I cleaned last week I would suggest crab patterns. Hard to believe they even felt like eating the shrimp with as full as they were.

Smokey, we have been HAMMERING the reds ever since I caught my first one last week. On one fly the “Leslie” as we call it, my buddies caught 9 fish yesterday, 5 on one flat …

Can’t go wrong and easy to tie, only takes about 7 mins each for me

He and Bob Clouser started out as small mouth bass fishermen. Lots of flies to choose from but, original flies are few and far between. Though many people think they tie original flies.

I’m watching a SC Bar-B-Que show so, I’m a bit chatty, right now.

The flats were full of crabs, mullet and shrimp. They would eat ANYTHING, and did.

Lots of big shrimp in the grass right now.

Presentation is all important in fly fishing. Bad presentation of a crab won’t catch fish. Good presentation of mullet or shrimp will work. Really… who know what a fish thinks?

I trust you.

So hurrican whats the recipe for that fly

I have a couple crab patterns that work well this time of year. Once the water cools off and gets clearer make sure you are tying with more muted colors and don’t use as much flash. In the late fall I tie with dark rootbeer, black, dark greens for the flash and I use a lot of dark olive, dark brown and a darker beige. You don’t need the bright flash when the water clears up. Shrimp patterns will work well for a while longer until the big shrimp move out but I always keep a few in the box. One of the best materials to use around here is rabbit strips… get some and use it. It give an awesome action to your flies and you don’t have to move the fly to get it…

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>Another red on the shrimp pattern tonight. Not much water on the flat but enough for a couple hungry reds.

Fritz might not remember the first rule of bait. Fish like crab unless there is a fresh free shrimp sitting in your face. He ate it like it was batter dipped.

What do u guys think of these 2

I'll trade you flies; two for one. No trading for flats. I'll help you find a flat for yourself, though.

Sounds like a plan. What do u mean 2 for one
