What’s a better investment?

We do lots of bottom fishing; bottom fishing from 80 feet at 25 miles out to bottom fishing in 180 feet on the ledge. Our boat has a Simrad Go9. Yes, this machine has a chartplotter, but we don’t have any aftermarket chips in the machine. As such we can see the waypoints we put in, but we have no bathymethric lines to clue us in on fish holding depth changes. We just go to our numbers (and we have a good amount) and watch the fishfinder.

Would it make more sense to buy the CMOR mapping chip that includes the charleston area ($700) or to buy some Navionics type chip that will show us the bottom contour? I don’t know what these chips cost. The goal is to catch more grouper, snapper, triggers, bsb, etc. My big hesitation with CMOR is that in the Charleston area the coverage along the ledge is narrow. Lots of detail where I have lots of marks in 150- 180 feet, but it may not have the details about ledges in 200- 300 feet; I’m not sure. Please give me your opinion. Thanks.
