Have seen these several times on docks.
I’m not a plant guy by any means, but I believe it’s the seed from something that was ingested by a feathered dinosaur or possibly a trash panda, and then deposited as a fecal offering after the nutritional portion had been digestively gleaned.
See if you can find a plant that has been fruiting nearby and smash a couple… and/or plant it in a pot on your porch!
Thanks! Thought it looked like a seed but was trying to imagine the water bird that had ingested its fruit. Good point, could be a raccoon, too. Had not thought of planting it but will try the next one I come across.

Careful tinkering with 'Coon poop, as they carry Roundworm, and it’s passed to humans that way.
