What Size Anchor Line

for a 3000#, 21 ft CC? Is 3/8 diameter enough?

awfull hard on your hands!!I like at least 5/8" even with an anchor ball!

Yes, 3/8 is plenty strong enough, but as boatpoor said, the small line is hard on your hands. I would use at least 1/2, that’s what I use on my small anchor on a 19’ skiff, and 5/8 on the larger anchor.

What is your typical anchoring scenario?

If you are only trying to anchor at Morris Island on the weekend, you can go cheap. Anchoring at the jetties or nearshore reefs, it’s not worth the hassle. Go bigger and better.

Chain size is important too. 3\8 galvanized, 15-20’ for reef fishing.

For casual anchoring, you don’t need that much. It all depends on what you’ll be doing most of the time.
