What trout?

In the last six or so weeks, we have fished at least once a week for trout- always with artificials. We have boated 25 to 60, and kept 8 to18 every trip. Monday, we caught 25 and kept 8, in spite of the weather. Water temp. was 59.
Today, we caught 5, and kept 1. Water was 57.
What in the world did we do wrong?

You’ve killed them all congratulations.
Lol. You sure the water was 57 that’s low seeming. I went sheepheading yesterday and a lot of stuff seemed like winter patterns. It might of been the cold front but the water had 4 to 6ft of visibility, a lot for charleston, to much I my opinion. I never do well in super clean water.

I hadn’t looked at water temp since last saturday, but I thought it was only mid to high 60’s still. Curious if anyone else is seeing drop down in 50’s already?

I went fishing on the 15th, day before OP and water was 63.9 with a minimal variation on different areas fished.

I’m pretty sure I remember looking at my sonar and seeing the temp at 58.x yday on the Folly, sure dropped quick

If trout fishing were that predictable it wouldn’t be any fun!

Water temp was just over 62 degrees in Shem this morning.

God bless the “ignore” function.

Was 63 Saturday through Tuesday in the Cooper and Wando. I suspect you didn’t do anything wrong, just the nature of the beast sometimes.
