What type of boat to get??

On days like today (Atleast in N. Myrtle) the ocean is choppy and wind is blowing pretty hard but its still a fishable day, what type of boat would you like to be in, a Walk around or a CC? How bout on most days what would you choose? I love the enclosed platform and comfortability of a walk around AND the ability to cruise the intracostal for days, but at the same time your loosing alot of valuable the fishing room, what would your call be?
P.S. Im talking about like 32 footers

all of the larger cuddy cabin I have been on, actually have ALOT more cockpit fishing room than the centerconsole boats. what you do lose is the ease of following a fish around the boat. you can still do it, but its no where near as easy.
as for staying dry, no contest, the cuddy.
the CC is easier to fish, looks better (in my opinion) and is usually less money, but the biggest advantage to me for a CC is the helm position is almost always farther aft, which results in a better ride. That being said, my next boat will most likely be a Cuddy, just for all around family fishing, cruising as well as offshore.
and i always suggest a used upperend boat like a grady, robalo, pursuit, etc, as opposed to a new lower end boat.

What’s your thought on Edgewater boats? Not alot of people know much so it’s hard to find an opinion

A friend of mine had a 32 edgewater cc and sold it 2 years ago becuase he wanted a cuddy cabin and a little bigger boat. It rode well ofshore and had plenty of storage and cockpit space and was fast. I dont know what you think about catamerans but we rented a 27 glacier bay cat in the BVI’s and it rode great and very dry and also had lots of room. Hope that helped

From what I have heard they are just outstandiing boats, but no one seems to have them and that why I question it because it doesnt seem to popular. But they are great riding IMO

Haiball has an Edgewater 185 (18.5’) with a Mercury 135 on it. It rides awesome and handles chop better than a 21’ Sea Pro. Overall, IMO, it’s a well-built, stable and great riding platform. His is only for sale because he has 2-foot itis and wants a bigger boat. You can rest assured that this particular Edgewater boat is in immacualte condition. I know, I’ve seen me wash it. Lol.

But seriously, they are great boats from my limited experience with them. His is the only one I have been out on.

P.S. It’s listed on here and CL if you are in the market.

I think the cuddy center consoles are a great happy medium. If your looking around 32’ how about…
