Went out somewhere super secret in the kayak yesterday, and got skunked! Saw lots of fish all over, but could not get them to eat anything artificial. Did not have any bait, not sure if that would have worked or not. Anyone else make it out in the fog and wind yesterday? Hopefully you had better luck than me!

I also got out on the kayak to my super secret spots yesterday. The conditions made it hard to sight cast until it was to late. Gave up on the reds after a few frustrating hours with only a rat to show for it and hit a few deep trout holes with success on a mirrodine.
We saw some nice fish, but did not see them until we were right on top of them, and they were gone! We let one school calm down, and were watching them push around, but they would not touch a dammed thing we through. The wind was a biotch! 5-10 and laying down, my arse!

Went out Sunday and had the same thing happen. Bumpin z-mans off their heads, pulled out some frozen shrimp and it was on. We caught 15 or so in an hour could no longer feel the fingers and called it a day.

I too got skunked on Sunday. Fished the upper Wando. Another boat that fished in same area got two reds and one trout. Water was 54 degrees and very clear (considering the rain and wind). I fished from 2 hours before low tide until 2 hours after low tide. I tried a variety of docks and a few oyster banks that have produced in the past. Nada!
Whew! Glad I decided not to make the trip down.
I did well Sunday. Had my buddy with me and I caught fish at every spot (him not so much) we went except for one. And that spot the fish were probably not there because they were on down at the next spot. I did not even try to sight fish just went to plan B,pitching/casting paddle tails around structure. My boss and I took his canoe out after work wed and we saw hundreds in really shallow water but we got way to close to them for them to bite. You really have to be stealthy.
