There are so many awesome fishing opportunities here. I got to thinking about my “hit list” a.k.a. goals for fishing. I’ve only been fishing for 3 yrs here, but have lived here for 13 so I still have a lot to experience. I’ve had some trophy Trout and zillions of redfish up to 22" and lots of sharks already. In the past couple weeks I have been close to meeting 1 and 2…

My list:

  1. 30"+ redfish
  2. Tailing redfish (bonus OTF) - Made a lot of progress this fall, but the goal not met yet…</font id=“blue”>
  3. Night fishing for trout - Knocked this one off last night 9/30/09, with bonus OTF. Caught others on spinner too. I know…its small! :stuck_out_tongue:</font id=“blue”>

  1. Spanish Mackeral
  2. Spade fish

You gotta get that #1 while in your yak. I have put two over 30" in the yak out of Bushy this year and it is a blast! Check out the kayak forum for a potential trip this Sunday, you may be able to get #1 and 2 if you’re really lucky!

Haven’t convinced him to buy yet. I just need to outfit one of my other two yaks for fishing.

Tarpon on fly, Chas county. Gotten one in BFT before. Had 3 days where it was a viable sight fishing option in chas. As in, I could see fish in the water and could present a fly to them while still sighted. They were sliding through a big cut in a sandbar and looked like big black logs under the surface. Of course I didn’t have the twelve weight with me any of those days. Bait fishing was outstanding for them that weekend at least.

My first inshore slam. I have completed 2/3 of a slam many times (red+trout-flounder or red+flounder-trout, etc). Just can’t get that last 1/3.
