What's the best paddle for yak fishing?

Just thinking about getting a lighter paddle… what’s everyones opinion on the types and brands on the market? is it worth the cost compared to the possible damage (oyster beds)?

Mornin’;
I use a Discontinued, Bending Branches, Tailwind, Evening Wood Paddle. It has a dripless design with a “grab hook” designed in. It is very useful for hookin’ lines and ropes while sittin’ in the yak. It’s a lil’ heavy at 40oz. But B.B. has a New Angler paddle, with a. Carbon shaft, I think it’s around 29 oz, adjustable offset and a built in measuring device on the shaft.

Just a thought: Yak-fishing around here can mean run-in’s/push-offs from oyster beds and other hazards. How expensive a blade do you want out there? I and my kids use lighter material poles but with plastic blades. Werners have served us well.

I use a spruce, cedar and douglas fir paddle I built about 17 years ago. Not too fancy, but very light. When it gets beat up, I sand and give it a fresh coat of varnish
