What's the story on this wreck?

My brother and I were fishing on this wrecked barge? for a bit today. It’s the one just off the Wando river in the creek that runs between the Cooper and the Wando. It’s been there for as long as I can remember. Does anyone know the official story of what it used to be and how it came to its final resting place?

I believe it’s an old fuel dock. Be careful around it. Lots of iron just beneath the surface.

An old dry dock. It burned and was never removed. Holds some fish.

A dock makes sense. It doesn’t look much like a barge, but I was always told that’s what it was. Thanks guys.

I’d pass. it’s a polluted Super Fund site. definitely no sheephead there either.

I was told years ago some Asians were living on it. Crabbing and fishing every minute of everyday. Someone set it on fire to make them move. Not sure if true or not.
